January 14th we picked up our new goat, a 4 day old full size LaMancha, the first (if you don’t count Lady since we discovered her kids can’t be registered with MDGA since she’s grade registered with ADGA) of my new lines of Mini LaManchas (some day).
She is from a dairy and they pull the kids at birth so once she had received all the colostrum she needed we were able to pick her up and bring her home. The plan had been to get two so they would have a buddy but there weren’t any others born that I wanted.
So a house goat is what we ended up with. Luckily baby goats don’t poop all over like big goats and she quickly became trained to pee outside.
Her name is Aria.
Pictures oldest to newest so you can see how much she grew in her 3 weeks of life! She is HUGE.
Her favorite place in the world is the outdoors and she has made friends with the sheep and Lady. Well, she thinks the world of them. They find her meh. She’s still too small to live outside permanently but she spends supervised visits out throughout the day.
