Vistin’ the Homestead

OMG…why can’t we just close on the new house already?!??!?!?!!

In my old life I had bought and sold a lot of houses and never, ever, ever had as much as trouble as I’m having right now with the underwriter for my mortgage 🙁

It’s a total bummer.

We just want to be at our house and setting the property up for our big move this month but it just keeps dragging on.  Every time I think all the paperwork is in, the underwriter comes back looking for more.  It’s so frustrating to be in a situation that feels out of my control.

Since we are close to the closing and the current owners have officially moved out, we went by the property for a walk-through and snapped a bunch of outside photos.

It’s much greener than it was last time we visited and it’s weird to see the property with all of his belongings gone.  He left us a nice surprise though – the washer and dryer!  We want to hang dry our clothes for the most part but it’ll be nice to have a dryer on rainy days and for our teenager.  I’m guessing, with how private she is, that hanging her underwear outside where everyone can see it isn’t going to fly.

Since we already have a washer and dryer, we’re thinking we may put the other washer on the back porch so we can be super lazy (or efficient!) and wash the clothes just a few steps away from our clothes line.  My only concern – SNAKES!  I do not want to open up the washer to find a huge snake snuggled up.   I think I’d die…

So here are the photos we snapped.  We have a lot of photos from other areas of the property that you can see on other posts.  This time we wanted to snap a few mostly of the land and the second pasture.
